Cursive Handwriting Workbook for Kids Cursive Writing Practice Book Cursive for Beginners Modern Kid Press Books Reviews
- The book is set up like this Capital A, lowercase a, then 4 words starting with A. The kids haven't learned the other letters in the words yet! The point of this book is not to make kids trace the letters and then get frustrated when they can't do it on their own, but that's what the set up of this book wants them to do. I just had my son do the letters first, then go back and do the whole words. Also, the words they chose didn't always incorporate the highlighted letter into the middle of any of the words, so how is the kid supposed to practice leading into the letter? Finally, I didn't agree with the style of some of the letters. Ex some of the capital letters looked too much like print, and the whole point of cursive is to not have to pick up your pencil like you do when you print.
- Missing letters A-M and half filled with sodoku?!
- My daughter really liked the workbook, even though some letters seem to be written differently (meaning how to start and end it, not the shape) than the way I learned it (cursive is all I've known my entire life). They can also make it a little more fun for kids, it seems a little monotonous to me. Regardless, this is a book that serves it's purpose on teaching kids (beginners with no experience in cursive) how to start writing each cursive letter. GREAT STEP 1 ON CURSIVE. I would recommended it because I have not seen anything better out there for this first stage, but they need to add some pictures or other handwriting exercises for the kids.
- I like the texture of the cover. The letter formations are odd at times. I bought this to teach my son cursive but ended up changing the way a lot of letters were formed. Each letter had words to practice after you learn the letter, but the words contained letters that hadn't been taught or practiced, so there was a lot of impromptu learning which seemed ineffective to me. Overall, this book is just ok. It got the job done though.
- I bought this for my 10 yr old to practice cursive. She's into art and always loved my cursive writing. Since the schools no longer teach cursive I wanted her to learn this skill and looked up books. This one appealed to me. The reviews were good. As promised the book paper quality was excellent and even with erasing a lot the paper didn't rip. My daughter loved it and found it easy to work on. My only small concern was that uppercase 'a' was written as 'a' in a slightly bigger font size and not as 'A'. whereas all other letters in uppercase were correct. I did not understand the logic behind it. Overall it's a good book for the price.
- I am pleased with this book, I bought it for my 8 year old 2nd grader and he has been practicing his handwriting. however, he has told me that some of the letters in the book are not how he is being taught in school. so I have to tell him to just do it the way his teachers tell him. over all its good.

- letters AND words writing practice. This way they see how each letter connects in a word, rather than just writing one letter over and over unconnected.
